Welcome to First Grade
There are 21 children in first grade, Ms. Gayle Kopera is our first grade teacher. Mrs. Kopera has been the first grade teacher at St. Pascal for the last 12 years.  She has a degree in Elementary Education and Special Education and continues to attend workshops in all areas including RTI and Gifted Education.  Her personal philosophy is everyone child can succeed and she maintains a positive environment where learning is exciting. The children are empowered to make a difference in the community and in the world. 
As you look through the website you can see that our first grade classroom provides a hands-on learning environment. The curriculum includes Reading, Mathematics, Spelling, Writing and Publishing, Social Studies, Science, and Art.  The special classes that we have are Music, Spanish, Physical Education, and Health. The children also visit the library.  They can select books and listen to stories.
